Sheff G is set to revolutionize New York rap once more

One of my favorite memories with Pop was the day we were in Quads Studio. It was me, him, Sleep, and even Polo G had pulled up. We were all chopping it up when he decided to take his hair out and get it done. As we started recording the song, he began to get wild, jumping on the engineer and causing antics. I’ll never forget that day.

My rapping style is unique, similar to Pop’s, especially with the whispering in my verses. Many people are doing it now, each with their own twist, which is inspirational. It’s essential for New York to support each other better. In other places, similar styles are admired, but in New York, it’s often perceived as “dick-riding.” We should all be pushing each other to succeed, without negativity.

To change that mentality in the city, artists like me need to use their voice to promote unity. We must be the ones to correct the narrative and stand up against negativity. It’s crucial for everyone to focus on positive growth and not get caught up in unnecessary drama.

Talking about diss tracks in music is nothing new – it’s part of the game. It’s a form of artistic competition between artists to showcase their skills. While drill music may have extended outside of just music, it’s all about perception and how people choose to interpret it.

I plan to navigate the next few years by incorporating my life experiences into my music. Every emotion I feel will be reflected in my songs. Whether I’m happy, sad, or heartbroken, I express myself through my music.

While locked up, I captured various emotions that I can now express in my music. Every feeling was channeled into a song that will be part of my album. One smart move I made was building a strong team around me. It’s crucial to have people to support you and guide you in the right direction.

My mature mentality developed from observing and learning from others before jumping into the rap scene. I paid attention to artists’ interviews to understand their journeys and obstacles. This approach has helped me navigate my own path in the industry.

Success, to me, now involves achieving remarkable milestones like going diamond. Seeing my peers achieve platinum status while I was in jail motivated me to strive for greatness. Taking care of my family and securing a stable future are key aspects of success to me.

I don’t believe rappers in my generation care much about titles like the King of New York. Everyone is focused on their own path and making their mark in the industry. Time will determine who truly resonates with audiences and earns widespread respect.

Rap lyrics being used in court against rappers is a contentious topic. It’s important to remember that music is entertainment, much like movies. It shouldn’t be taken as a reflection of reality, just as watching Scarface doesn’t compel someone to act out in real life.
