Sean Combs, also known as Diddy, and Kim Porter, had a tumultuous relationship that lasted from 1994 to 2007. Their relationship came to an end when Porter discovered that Combs had fathered a child with another woman while she was pregnant with their twin daughters, D’Lila and Jessie.
Porter revealed that Diddy exhibited controlling behavior towards her, sharing in an interview with Essence that he would call her incessantly throughout the day and was very intrusive in her life. She felt like she had no autonomy and that her life was not her own.
Diddy has been embroiled in controversy since last November when Cassie, his ex-partner, filed a lawsuit against him accusing him of rape and abuse. Subsequently, five women and one man have come forward with similar allegations against him, which he has adamantly denied.
Recently, footage of Diddy physically assaulting Cassie in 2016 resurfaced, leading to a public statement from her and an apology from him. Diddy acknowledged his misconduct in the video, admitting that he had hit “rock bottom” but took full responsibility for his actions, stating that his behavior was inexcusable.
