Yung Miami Strives to Tune Out the “Negative Noise”

When we look back to our first show as the City Girls at Heads or Tails in Miami, excitement surged through me. The energy in Miami was electrifying, with the entire community coming out to support us. We had special outfits made for the occasion, and when I stepped on stage and witnessed everyone vibing to our music, it sent chills down my spine. It was then that I realized, “Wow, I can do this.”

During that show, a fight broke out, but instead of dampening our spirits, it fueled our determination. It served as a testament to the bond between us and the unwavering support from our fans. The experience motivated us to take our music career more seriously and to stay motivated. The reaction from the crowd ignited a fire within us that continues to drive us forward.

The music scene in Miami has transformed since then, presenting challenges for emerging artists to get noticed. Miami has a unique musical style that sets it apart, but the recognition and opportunities for local artists seem limited. Despite the difficulties, Miami continues to produce talented artists who struggle to break through in the industry.

Reflecting on the time when I held down the group while JT was incarcerated, I recognize how it prepared me for my solo career. Despite facing skepticism and criticism, I persevered and proved my worth. I had to push through challenges, including being pregnant, which added a layer of complexity to an already demanding situation.

Lately, personal experiences have been inspiring my music. Dealing with negativity and naysayers compelled me to hit the studio and address these issues through my music. Channeling my emotions into my work has been a cathartic and motivating process.

The decision to embark on a solo project came after the realization that our dynamic as a group was shifting. Collaborating became challenging, and we felt that pursuing our solo paths would be more fruitful. This transition has allowed both of us to explore our individual artistry and find our own paths in the industry.

Navigating the noise and distractions while creating music requires a focused mindset. Throughout my career, I’ve faced doubts and criticisms, but I’ve learned to tune them out and stay true to myself. Blocking out the negativity and staying committed to my craft has been crucial for my success.

Maintaining a balance between my music career and developing the next season of my podcast, “Caresha, Please,” is a rewarding challenge. The podcast has been a success, despite attracting more haters along the way. Each season presents new opportunities for growth and creativity, which excites me.

Through “Caresha, Please,” I’ve discovered that my energy and personality make people feel comfortable. Despite my initial shyness, I’ve been able to create a welcoming environment for guests on the show. This experience has taught me about my ability to connect with others and engage in meaningful conversations.

In the evolving landscape of music promotion, artists are turning to streamers as a new platform to reach audiences. As the industry shifts, embracing new ways to share music becomes essential. Streamers offer a direct and engaging channel for artists to connect with fans and promote their work.

Streaming has become a powerful new medium for music promotion, offering a more accessible and diverse platform than traditional radio. Embracing this shift in the industry allows artists to connect with their audience in a more dynamic and engaging way. Different platforms and formats provide artists with unique opportunities to showcase their music.

My friendship with JT is rooted in sisterhood and family. We’ve weathered many arguments, both in private and public settings, but our bond always prevails. Facing challenges together has only strengthened our connection, and we continue to support and uplift each other in our respective journeys.

One of the biggest misconceptions about me is that I thrive on competition. In reality, I prefer to focus on my own growth and journey. I strive to stay true to myself and my vision, regardless of external pressures or expectations. Misconceptions about my motivations and intentions often miss the mark.

Reflecting on my journey, the smartest thing I’ve ever done is to never give up on myself. Despite facing obstacles and doubts, I’ve persevered and continued to push myself to achieve my goals. Each day presents new challenges and opportunities for growth, and I’m committed to staying true to my path.

On the flip side, I’ve made my fair share of mistakes and blunders. Whether it’s saying the wrong thing or getting carried away in conversations, I’ve learned from these experiences and grown as a person. Embracing my imperfections and learning from my mistakes has been a crucial part of my personal growth.

At this stage in my career, success looks like reaching new heights and continuing to evolve as an artist and influencer. Embracing new opportunities and creative ventures allows me to expand my horizons and connect with a wider audience. My goal is to push boundaries and explore new avenues for self-expression and growth.

As I chart my path forward, I aspire to embody the spirit of a trailblazer, much like the iconic Oprah Winfrey. I see success as a journey of self-discovery and empowerment, where I can inspire others to pursue their dreams and reach their full potential. The sky’s the limit, and I’m excited to see where this journey takes me.
