In recent news, two individuals have been arrested in connection to a series of violent crimes in Queens. The first individual, Scott, has been charged with criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment. The arrests are believed to be related to the murder of 47-year-old Darius Guillebeaux, who was tragically shot multiple times in his neighborhood on June 7, 2021.
Another individual, 22-year-old Richard Swygert, has also been arrested and faces similar charges. Swygert was indicted for the fatal shooting of 22-year-old Dominic Malivert and injuring another victim during an altercation at a karaoke bar in Queens in August 2021. According to Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz, the incident stemmed from an argument over jewelry. Swygert is scheduled to appear in court next month to address these charges.
Additionally, Swygert had previously been arraigned in October 2021 for the murder of 20-year-old Robert Williams outside of the Umbrella Hotel in Kew Gardens earlier that year. An inmate search under NYC’s Department of Corrections website reveals that Scott was also arrested last month and charged with criminal possession of a weapon. The authorities are working diligently to bring these individuals to justice and ensure the safety of the community.
