Birdman Addresses New Orleans Inmates, Suggests Books Might Not Be the Answer

Birdman, the founder of Cash Money Records, recently returned to his hometown to speak to inmates at Orleans Parish Prison. During the discussion, Birdman opened the floor to hear how he could help those behind bars. In a video clip, he is heard saying, “So, whatever choice we make we gotta live with it.”

Some inmates expressed a desire for more access to literature, with one person mentioning the need for books. Birdman, acknowledging his ability to make a difference, asked, “How can I help y’all? Because I have enough power to make that happen.”

In response to the request for books, Birdman seemed hesitant, stating, “You think having books is gonna…No disrespect to reading books,” before the clip ended. The interaction sheds light on the importance of providing resources and support to individuals in correctional facilities.
