During her Los Angeles show, Megan Thee Stallion performs Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us”

Megan Thee Stallion’s involvement in Kendrick’s feud with Drake has been a major highlight of the show. However, she is not just a bystander in this conflict, as many in the hip-hop community credit her with sparking the current hostility towards Drake.

The tension between Meg and Drake began in 2022, following Drake’s disrespectful behavior towards her after she was shot in the foot by Tory Lanez. In one instance, Drake made derogatory remarks about Megan on his track “Circo Loco,” insinuating that she lied about being shot. He even publicly advocated for Tory’s release from prison.

Meg seemed to address Drake’s behavior on Twitter, calling out rappers who supported a man who had harmed a woman. However, it was her 2024 track “Hiss” that truly served as her response to Drake’s antics.

In “Hiss,” Megan delivers bars that are widely interpreted as shots at Drake, with lyrics like “Cosplay gangsters, fake-ass accents / Posted in another n**** hood like a bad bitch.” These lines are seen as sparking a series of industry-wide attacks on Drake, including Metro Boomin’s “BBL Drizzy” and Kendrick’s ongoing feud with the Toronto rapper.

Kendrick, in his track “Euphoria,” also takes a swipe at Drake, rapping “You know I got language barriers, huh / There’s no accent you can sell me.” The animosity between Drake and Megan Thee Stallion continues to reverberate throughout the hip-hop community, with Meg firmly establishing herself as a force to be reckoned with in the ongoing conflict.
