Lil Wayne recently updated his list of top five favorite rappers and hinted at the possible release of Tha Carter VI in the near future. During an interview with Cam Heyward on the podcast Not Just Football, the 41-year-old artist shared his revised list, which included two rappers not previously mentioned in his 2023 lists.
With a smile, Lil Wayne declared, “This is easy. Lil Wayne, Weezy Baby, Tunechi,” before delving into his top five rappers of all time. In no particular order, he mentioned Jay-Z, Missy Elliott, Eminem, the Notorious B.I.G., and Drake as his ultimate favorites.
Interestingly, in a previous interview with Billboard last year, Lil Wayne had named Missy, Hov, Biggie, Goodie Mob, and UGK as his top picks. This list was reiterated on What’s Wright? with Nick Wright in 2022.
During the conversation with Heyward, Lil Wayne also shared an update on his highly anticipated album, Tha Carter VI. He confirmed that the project was completed and currently in the editing phase, revealing that his next album would be Carter VI. While he did not provide an exact release date, he assured fans that the album would be his next major project.
Fans can expect Tha Carter VI to drop soon, as Lil Wayne expressed his excitement for the upcoming release and the completion of the album. Stay tuned for more updates on this highly anticipated project from the legendary rapper.
