Killer Mike has recently released a new single along with a music video for his song “Humble Me.” The lyrics and visuals of the song directly address his recent arrest at the Grammys on Feb. 4. Interestingly, the single was dropped the day after he made a return to the Peacock Theatre, the same place where he was arrested, for the BET Awards.
At the BET Awards, Killer Mike walked away with the album of the year award over the weekend. This success comes shortly after he won three Grammy Awards, including Best Rap Album. In a press release, Mike expressed his continued inspiration and dedication to his music, stating “I was in the studio the very next day. I’m as inspired as ever and I’m just following the music at this point. All my heroes have been cuffed and mishandled in some way.”
The powerful message behind “Humble Me” coupled with the impactful visuals in the music video showcases Killer Mike’s resilience and unwavering commitment to his artistry. It’s evident that despite obstacles and challenges, Killer Mike continues to produce music that resonates with his fans and speaks to his personal experiences.
