Jack Antonoff Criticizes Billie Eilish with ‘Lunch’ Comment

Recently, social media has been buzzing with speculation regarding Jack Antonoff potentially throwing shade at Billie Eilish. During an interview on Today, the Bleachers frontman and talented producer for Taylor Swift discussed his band’s new self-titled album and his songwriting process. Antonoff mentioned that he is often inspired to write music by things that affect him emotionally, rather than trivial matters like a delicious sandwich.

He stated, “It’s hard to write unless you’re really compelled. And sometimes what compels you is way more serious things. I never feel like… You don’t hear a lot of great songs about like, one’s lunch order. So the things you don’t really understand and cause you pain are usually things worth writing about.”

Although his statement may seem harmless, it has been suggested that Antonoff could have subtly aimed his words at Eilish. This speculation arose because Eilish’s lead single from her latest album, Hit Me Hard and Soft, is titled “Lunch.” Despite the fact that the song is not actually about lunch but rather Eilish’s attraction to women, Antonoff’s comment has stirred up a debate online.

While some fans took offense to Antonoff’s remarks, others argued that it might be a stretch to interpret them as a dig at Eilish. The conversation continues to unfold on social media as fans contemplate the potential underlying meaning behind Antonoff’s words.
