Kendrick Lamar’s Song “Not Like Us” Leads to 40 Percent Increase in Sales for Tam’s Burgers

Kendrick Lamar’s music video for “Not Like Us” has sparked a surge in business for Tam’s Burgers No. 21. According to TMZ, manager Lauro Hernandez and his son, Bryan Noe, have seen a 40 percent increase in customers since the video’s release. The Compton restaurant has attracted new customers who are ordering the bacon cheeseburger, a favorite of Kendrick Lamar.

The video, released on July 4, celebrates the success of Kendrick’s track and hints at continued success in the future. In the video, Kendrick and Mustard visit Tam’s, prominently featuring the restaurant’s logo. This isn’t the first time Tam’s has received attention in the media. Kendrick Lamar has previously praised the establishment and continues to visit it. The restaurant’s logo was even recreated for the Pepsi Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show in 2022, where Kendrick performed alongside other music legends.

In 2012, Kendrick Lamar spoke highly of Tam’s in an interview with Complex, calling it a “street-sloppy” alternative to In-N-Out. The “Not Like Us” video, directed by Dave Free and Kendrick himself, has nearly 40 million views. The video includes references to Kendrick and Drake’s ongoing feud, which has been well-documented in various media outlets.
