Rumors spread on Monday that 50 Cent would be performing at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, which kicked off today. However, his PR representative Amanda Ruisi clarified that 50 Cent will not be attending the convention as he will be busy preparing for his Humor and Harmony festival in Shreveport, Louisiana on August 10.
After a failed assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, over the weekend, 50 Cent trended on Twitter. People on Twitter edited together clips of the shooting with 50 Cent’s song “Many Men,” which details the rapper’s near-death experiences after being shot multiple times in 2000.
During a show appearance in Boston, 50 Cent provided his own commentary on the Trump assassination attempt. While performing “Many Men,” a screen behind him showed the cover of his debut album, Get Rich or Die Tryin’, with Trump’s head placed on the rapper’s body.
As the RNC began, Trump announced that JD Vance will be his running mate. Trump is set to give his speech on Thursday, July 18th, and announced on Monday that he has rewritten parts of the speech in light of the incident in Pennsylvania.
