Cardi B has made it clear that she is not interested in Joe Budden speculating about her relationship with record label Atlantic Records. Budden recently expressed on an episode of The Joe Budden Podcast that he believes fans may never see another Cardi album. Since her debut album Invasion of Privacy in 2018, Cardi has yet to release a full-length follow-up. His co-host Trevor “Queenzflip” Robinson mentioned hearing similar sentiments during a visit to the Atlantic Records office, suggesting that the label was interested in putting out an album.
However, Budden stated that he has not received any direct information from Atlantic, despite Robinson’s claims. In response to these comments, Cardi took to X Spaces to address the situation and accused Robinson and Budden of spreading falsehoods about her. She expressed frustration at the constant comparisons made between her and other female artists by Budden and his co-hosts, emphasizing that the artists they compare her to do not measure up to her level of success.
Cardi dismissed the notion that her public relationship issues with Offset are a publicity stunt and asserted that her second album is in progress. She mentioned that TT Torez, the music director at Hot 97, has already listened to the album, debunking any doubts about its existence. Cardi expressed her irritation at the ongoing criticism from Budden and invited him to visit her studio if he genuinely wants to hear her new music. Despite Budden’s presence in the X Spaces chat, he remained a silent observer rather than an active participant. Cardi firmly requested to be left alone and reiterated her desire for privacy and respect as she continues to work on her highly anticipated sophomore album.
