Carpenter has previously incorporated a twist on the “BBC” line into her performances, which caused the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) to have to edit out the reference during a 2023 rendition of “Nonsense.” The unedited version of the video was mistakenly posted online, but a spokesperson for BBC Radio 1 confirmed to Billboard that the correct version is now available for viewing. In the altered lyric, Carpenter playfully quips, “How quickly can you take your clothes off, pop quiz/I’m American I am not British, so BBC: it stands for something different/This Live Lunge is so lit because I’m in it, innit.”
