Former Prosecutor Cites Kelly and Epstein Cases as Examples of Diddy’s Alleged ‘Playbook’

A former federal prosecutor recently noted the past indictments of high-profile individuals like R. Kelly, Jeffrey Epstein, and Ghislaine Maxwell as a potential playbook for the potential prosecution of Diddy, whose homes were raided earlier this year. Elizabeth Geddes, who has significant experience in prosecuting cases like Kelly’s in New York, was quoted in a comprehensive new piece by Cheyenne Roundtree and Nancy Dillon for Rolling Stone. This piece, months in the making, includes insights from numerous interviews with Diddy’s ex-friends and former employees.

The source mentioned that the raids on Diddy’s homes in Los Angeles and Miami back in March could be linked to an investigation into sex trafficking and racketeering. Geddes explained that sex trafficking could be pursued as a separate charge or as part of a larger racketeering case. She highlighted that the indictments of individuals like R. Kelly, Jeffrey Epstein, and Ghislaine Maxwell provide a potential blueprint for prosecutors in a case against Diddy.

Diddy’s representatives have yet to comment on the situation. While Diddy has not faced charges at the level of the aforementioned individuals, he has faced accusations of assault in various lawsuits, including one quickly settled with his former partner Cassie last year. Following the release of surveillance footage from 2016 showing Diddy assaulting Cassie, both parties issued statements addressing the incident.

Diddy admitted to his actions in the video and expressed his disgust at his behavior, taking full responsibility. Despite denying all allegations against him, including those in a lawsuit from Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones Jr, Diddy has faced scrutiny over his past actions. Cassie, in her statement, thanked those who supported her and encouraged others facing challenges to seek help and not carry the burden alone.

Regarding the 2016 assault video, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office previously stated they would not be able to press charges due to the incident occurring beyond the legal timeline for prosecution. Despite this, the scrutiny on Diddy’s past behavior continues to be a topic of discussion.
