Quavo and Kamala Harris recently joined forces to host a gun violence prevention event in memory of Quavo’s nephew and fellow Migos member, Takeoff. The event, known as The Rocket Foundation Summit, took place at the Carter Center in Atlanta with the support of The White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention.
On what would have been Takeoff’s 30th birthday, the event brought together 300 guests, including Vice President Harris, community organizations, families affected by gun violence, survivors, and young leaders from Atlanta. The focus of the summit was to address the pressing issue of gun violence in the United States through discussions and panels.
The panels delved into topics such as youth programs and the efficacy of community interventions in tackling gun violence. A highlight of the event was a fireside chat between Quavo and VP Harris, moderated by Greg Jackson, Deputy Director of the White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention. The collaboration between the hip-hop artist and the Vice President symbolizes a united front in the fight against gun violence.
