Travis Scott’s lawyer has spoken out regarding his recent arrest in Florida, calling it a “misunderstanding.” The incident took place on June 21 at the Miami Beach Marina, while Scott was on a charter boat. Reports state that a physical altercation occurred on the yacht and Scott was seen yelling at the boat’s occupants before being taken into custody.
According to an arrest affidavit obtained by People, authorities detected alcohol on Scott’s breath and he ignored commands to sit down. The complainant did not press charges but requested Scott to leave the vessel. However, Scott returned a few minutes later, leading to his arrest for disturbing the peace of the marina and nearby buildings.
Scott was arrested and taken to the Miami-Dade County jail, where he was booked and photographed in an “It’s Miami” t-shirt before being released on bond. His lawyer, Bradford Cohen, emphasized that there was no physical altercation and thanked the authorities for their cooperation in resolving the matter swiftly.
A source close to Scott confirmed that there was no physical altercation and described the incident as a rowdy party. The source mentioned that Scott was quickly bailed out and is back home, with no further action expected since it was a minor incident similar to receiving a ticket with no injuries.
This is not the first incident involving Scott, as he was recently involved in a fight with producer Southside and music executive Alexander ‘AE’ Edwards at an event in Cannes, France. It seems that Scott has been caught up in some recent tumultuous events, but his lawyer insists that they were all misunderstandings.
