Bubbles, the beloved pet chimpanzee of Michael Jackson, is currently thriving at the Center for Great Apes in Florida. Recently celebrating his 41st birthday, Bubbles is living a peaceful life as an elderly ape under the care of the sanctuary. According to TMZ, the director of the center, Patti Ragan, shared that Bubbles spends his days exploring the tunnels, taking midday naps, building nests, and even painting. Regular check-ups by veterinarians and caregivers ensure that he maintains a healthy weight of 180 pounds.
With a potential lifespan of 50 to 60 years in captivity, Bubbles is considered to be in good health despite his age. Ragan mentioned that there are no signs of an abusive past with Bubbles, who is known to be friendly towards visitors and other chimps in the sanctuary. Surprisingly, Bubbles does not show a special preference for Michael Jackson’s music compared to other tunes played for the chimps.
In honor of Bubbles’ 41st birthday, the sanctuary released a heartwarming video capturing moments of his daily life. The video serves as a testament to the loving care and attention that Bubbles receives at the Center for Great Apes, ensuring that he lives out his golden years in comfort and happiness.
