In a recent interview, Camila Cabello shared a conversation she had with Charli XCX, where the latter reassured her that there was no animosity between them. Cabello recounted, “But [Charli] called me and was like, ‘Hey, I hope you don’t think that I’m actually mad. This is me playing into the Brat era.'” She expressed her understanding and respect for XCX’s approach.
Both Cabello and XCX recently dropped new albums, C, XOXO and Brat, respectively. Despite the release of their albums in close succession, Cabello made it clear that she doesn’t see significant similarities between their musical styles. She mentioned in an interview with The Independent that her album features a light hyperpop feel, with only a single song referencing the genre for a brief 15-second period.
