PinkPantheress, the 23-year-old artist behind the hit album “Heaven Knows,” is not one who typically indulges in full albums. In a recent interview with Arshan Jawaid for Kids Take Over, she revealed her song-focused approach to music. When asked about Playboi Carti’s albums “Die Lit” and “Whole Lotta Red,” PinkPantheress expressed her preference for individual songs over full-length albums.
“I don’t listen to albums,” she explained. “I just listen to songs. I don’t listen to albums. That’s why when it came to my own album, I was like, ‘Do people care about tracklisting?’ I couldn’t believe it, you know. When I saw people review my album, some people were like, ‘Oh, it’s a great album but the tracklisting doesn’t make sense.'”
PinkPantheress’s debut studio album, “Heaven Knows,” consists of 13 tracks totaling 34 minutes in length, including the popular hit “Boy’s a Liar Pt. 2” featuring Ice Spice. The artist’s commitment to brevity is evident throughout her work. In a recent interview for ABC News’ Prime Playlist series, PinkPantheress explained that she intentionally experiments with writing concise songs, believing that a song shouldn’t exceed two and a half minutes in length.
PinkPantheress’s latest track, “Turn It Up,” follows this philosophy perfectly, clocking in at two minutes and 27 seconds. The artist’s dedication to creating short yet impactful songs has resonated with audiences worldwide.
